The City Boy Movement (CBM) has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Chief Idowu Folorunsho Dada, father of Hon. Segun Dada, National Director of Digital and New Media Operations of the Movement.

Chief Dada passed away at the age of 91 after what the Movement described as a long, honourable and impactful life devoted to family, professional excellence, service to humanity and the Church.

In a condolence statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, the Movement extended its deepest sympathies to Hon. Segun Dada, his siblings, the grandchildren of the deceased and the entire Dada family.

The Director-General said the late Chief Dada lived a life defined by integrity, discipline, compassion and devotion to family. He noted that the deceased distinguished himself professionally as a former Sales Manager at NEXAN Kablemetal Nigeria Plc, earning the admiration of those who encountered him through his exemplary character, professionalism and dedication to duty.

Reflecting on the significance of the loss, Shoga stated that the death of a father represents more than the departure of a parent, describing it as the closing of a living chapter of family history and the silencing of a familiar voice that offered counsel, correction, protection and encouragement.

He, however, urged Hon. Segun Dada and the entire family to take consolation in the enduring legacy of their father, stressing that a good father continues to live through the character, principles and accomplishments of the children he raised.

According to the Director-General, the commitment, courage, loyalty and tireless service of Hon. Segun Dada to Nigeria, the Presidency and the City Boy Movement are living testimonies to the moral foundation and quality upbringing provided by his late father.

“A person’s life is not measured only by the number of years he lived, but by the values he transmitted and the people he prepared to serve humanity,” Shoga said.

He added that Chief Dada’s greatest monument was not one constructed of stone or marble, but the disciplined, responsible and accomplished children whose lives continue to reflect the values he upheld.

The Director-General assured Hon. Segun Dada that the entire leadership and membership of the City Boy Movement stood firmly with him and his family during the period of mourning.

He prayed that Almighty God would grant Chief Idowu Folorunsho Dada eternal rest and give his children, grandchildren and extended family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

A GOOD NAME NEVER DIES: CITY BOY MOVEMENT MOURNS CHIEF IDOWU FOLORUNSHO DADA

It is with profound sadness that I, on behalf of the Governing Board, National Working Committee, leadership and entire membership of the City Boy Movement, extend our deepest condolences to Hon. Segun Dada, National Director of Digital and New Media Operations, on the passing of his beloved father, Chief Idowu Folorunsho Dada, who departed this world at the venerable age of 91.

Chief Dada lived a long, honourable and impactful life defined by integrity, discipline, compassion, devotion to family and commitment to the Church. He distinguished himself professionally as a former Sales Manager at NEXAN Kablemetal Nigeria Plc and earned the admiration of those who encountered him through his exemplary character, professionalism and dedication to duty.

The death of a father is not merely the departure of a parent; it is the closing of a living chapter of family history; the temporary silencing of a familiar voice that offered counsel, correction, protection and encouragement.

Yet, a good father never truly dies. He continues to live in the character of the children he raised, in the principles he planted, in the lives he influenced and in the good name he leaves behind.

A person’s life is not measured only by the number of years he lived, but by the values he transmitted and the people he prepared to serve humanity. Chief Dada’s greatest monument is therefore not one constructed of stone or marble, but the disciplined, responsible and accomplished children whose lives continue to reflect the values he upheld.

In the dedication, courage, loyalty and tireless service of Hon. Segun Dada to our nation, the Presidency and the City Boy Movement, we see a living testimony to the quality of upbringing and moral foundation provided by his late father. Chief Dada’s earthly voice may now be still, but the lessons of his life will continue to speak through those he nurtured.

My dear brother, Segun, no words can completely remove the pain of losing a beloved father. Nevertheless, take consolation in the knowledge that your father lived to a remarkable age, served honourably, raised a worthy family and departed with an enduring legacy of service, integrity and a good name.

Death does not defeat a well-lived life; it merely transfers its testimony from the physical presence of the departed to the memories, values and conduct of those left behind.

At this difficult moment, the entire City Boy Movement family stands firmly with you. Your grief is our grief, and your loss is deeply felt across the Movement.

We pray that Almighty God will receive the soul of Chief Idowu Folorunsho Dada into eternal rest, comfort his children, grandchildren and extended family, and grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

May every cherished memory of him become a source of comfort, and may the good name he left behind continue to inspire generations.
